Melbourne City has learned our opponent for the upcoming AFC Women’s Champions League Quarter-Final, with the knockout stages fixtures confirmed on Thursday night in Kuala Lumpur.
Our City Women will take on the Uzbekistani side PFC Nasaf in a home Quarter-Final, as we look to continue our continental journey after a flawless Group Stage campaign late last year.
City qualified for the knockout stages for the second consecutive season thanks to a dominant showing in November, where we won all three Group Stage fixtures, scoring an impressive 15 goals without conceding. It was a statement campaign that underlined City’s credentials on the continental stage and ensured a return to the business end of the competition.

Following a hiatus to focus on domestic commitments in the Ninja A-League, attention momentarily shifted back to Asia on Thursday as the knockout stage draw was conducted.
That draw confirmed Nasaf as our Quarter-Final opponent, with the Uzbekistani outfit progressing as the third-best second-placed team from the Group Stage. Nasaf recorded one win, one draw and one defeat across their three matches, and will present a new and intriguing challenge for Michael Matricciani’s side.
The Quarter-Final will be hosted by City, with the fixture set to take place on the final weekend of March. Full match details, including date, venue and kick-off time, will be confirmed in the coming days.
Should City progress beyond the Quarter-Final, a place in the Semi-Finals awaits against either Japan’s Tokyo Verdy Beleza or Philippines-based side Stallion Laguna, as the road to continental silverware continues.
