Melbourne City has locked in our extended squad for Wednesday night’s Ninja A-League clash against Western Sydney Wanderers, marking a welcome return home after a busy spell on the road.
It will be City’s first appearance at home in a number of weeks following three consecutive away fixtures, with Wednesday’s contest a rescheduled Round 5 matchup due to our involvement in the AFC Women’s Champions League earlier in the season.
Our recent road trip delivered mixed results, with the team splitting the three matches with a draw in Brisbane, a strong win in Perth, and most recently, a frustrating defeat in Adelaide. After that latest result, expect a fired-up City outfit eager to respond and put in a strong performance back on home soil in front of our supporters.

Michael Matricciani has named a largely settled squad for the midweek fixture, with no omissions from the group that travelled to Adelaide. Danella Butrus has been added to the extended squad as she pushes for a return after missing recent matches due to concussion.

Izabella Rako has also been promoted to the extended squad, adding further depth as City looks to reassert our attacking intent against the Wanderers.
