Our continental journey continues next month, with details now confirmed for our AFC Women’s Champions League Quarter Final clash at home.
City will host Uzbekistani side PFC Nasaf on Sunday 29 March at the Home of the Matildas, with kick-off locked in for 3:00pm as we look to take the next step toward continental silverware.
Having progressed to the knockout stages for the second consecutive season, City earned the right to host the Quarter Final after a flawless Group Stage campaign late last year.
Three wins from three in November, 15 goals scored and none conceded, it was a dominant statement of intent on the Asian stage.
Following the January draw, Nasaf were confirmed as our Quarter Final opponents. The Uzbek outfit advanced as the third-best second-placed team from the Group Stage, recording one win, one draw and one defeat across their three fixtures.
Nasaf will provide a fresh and intriguing challenge for Michael Matricciani’s side as attention turns back to Asia next month after a strong focus on domestic commitments in the Ninja A-League.
With a Semi-Final berth on the line – and a potential clash with either Tokyo Verdy Beleza or Stallion Laguna awaiting the winner – City will be eager to make home advantage count.
