Melbourne City FC is proud to welcome Hallam Secondary College into the City Futures Program, further strengthening the Club’s commitment to supporting young people across Melbourne’s South-East through education, football and community connection.
The partnership is designed to increase student engagement at school while opening up meaningful opportunities and pathways both within and beyond the game.
Hallam joins Narre Warren South P-12 College, Gleneagles Secondary College and Timbarra P-9 School as the fourth South-East school to become part of the growing program.

Students will take part in high-quality coaching sessions delivered twice a week on-site by Melbourne City coaches. These sessions are designed not only to develop football skills, but also to build confidence, teamwork and a stronger connection to school life.
Participants will also have the opportunity to visit Casey Fields, experiencing the Club environment first-hand. This includes observing A-League training sessions, hearing from coaches and staff, and gaining insight into the wide range of career opportunities across the sports industry, as well as competing in tournaments against other City Futures schools.
Through these experiences, students are introduced to a range of future pathways, helping them better understand their options and remain motivated in their education.
Head of Community Sunil Menon said City Futures plays an important role in creating meaningful connections for young people.
“City Futures is about creating genuine opportunities for young people to stay engaged in their education while feeling connected to something bigger,” Menon said.

“By bringing the Club into schools and providing access to our environment, we’re helping students build confidence, explore future pathways and see what’s possible both within football and beyond.”
Acting Principal at Hallam Secondary College, Shelly Haughey, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting students.
“This collaboration marks an exciting step for both Hallam Secondary College and Melbourne City, reinforcing a shared vision of empowering students and providing positive, lasting opportunities,” Haughey said.
“We’re proud to be part of the City Futures Program. Seeing our students come together and commit to their training is setting them up for success both on and off the pitch, and we look forward to building a strong and lasting partnership with Melbourne City FC.”
