Melbourne City captain Rebekah Stott has been selected in the A-League Women All Stars squad for next month’s blockbuster clash against English Women’s Super League powerhouse Chelsea Women.
The Melbourne City Player of the Year earns selection following a remarkable 2025/26 campaign, helping lead City to a historic Premiership-Championship double while collecting a host of individual honours.
Stott captained Michael Matricciani’s side throughout another record-breaking season, as City claimed a third consecutive Premiership before defeating Wellington Phoenix 3-1 at AAMI Park to secure the Club’s first Championship trophy since 2020.
Her consistently outstanding performances were recognised across the competition, with the New Zealand international taking home Melbourne City’s Player of the Year and Players’ Player awards before being crowned the inaugural Clare Polkinghorne Medallist as the Ninja A-League’s standout performer.
Now, Stott has been rewarded with selection in the A-League Women All Stars squad for the second edition of the showcase event, where the competition’s best will face one of world football’s most successful clubs.
The fixture will also reunite Stott with former Melbourne City teammate Ellie Carpenter, who played a key role in City’s Invincible Premiership and Championship-winning campaign in 2019/20.
The meeting will carry extra significance for City’s skipper, who is no stranger to English opposition after previously spending two seasons with Brighton & Hove Albion in the Women’s Super League.
This year’s selection also continues Stott’s proud All Stars history after she captained the inaugural A-League Women All Stars side that faced Arsenal in Melbourne in 2024.
