Melbourne City’s Shelby McMahon has been selected in the A-League Women All Stars squad to take on English Women’s Super League powerhouse Chelsea Women, earning another deserved recognition after playing a pivotal role in City’s historic 2025/26 campaign.
Still only 18 years old, McMahon has quickly established herself as one of Australian football’s brightest young talents, becoming an integral member of a Melbourne City side that secured a record-breaking third consecutive Premiership before lifting the Championship with a 3-1 Grand Final win over Wellington Phoenix.
Remarkably, despite her young age, McMahon already knows what sustained success looks like. Having played her part across all three consecutive Premiership-winning campaigns, she has developed into one of the competition’s most exciting midfielders while continuing to mature well beyond her years.

This season saw her influence grow even further, with the talented midfielder cementing herself as a regular starter in Michael Matricciani’s double-winning side. Her outstanding campaign was recognised at the Club’s end-of-season awards, where she claimed Melbourne City’s Rising Star Award.
McMahon’s ability to deliver on the biggest stage was evident throughout the season, none more so than in City’s Semi Final Leg 2 win over Melbourne Victory, where her stunning strike sealed the Club’s place in the Grand Final before City went on to complete the Premiership-Championship double.
Now, the teenager will have the opportunity to showcase her immense talent alongside City skipper Rebekah Stott against one of the world’s strongest clubs when the A-League Women All Stars face Chelsea Women at the Sydney Super Cup.

The fixture will also see McMahon come up against former Melbourne City Premiership and Championship winner Ellie Carpenter, while testing herself alongside the very best players the Ninja A-League has to offer.
For City supporters, the match offers another chance to watch one of the Club’s brightest young stars during the off-season, while providing McMahon with another significant step in what is shaping as a hugely promising career.
Already a three-time Premiership winner, McMahon has established herself as a crucial piece of City’s success. Now, she has the chance to show why she is regarded as one of Australia’s brightest prospects on another major stage.
