FAMILY-FRIENDLY SUMMER: An unforgettable summer awaits

The football doesn’t stop when the FIFA World Cup ends. After weeks glued to the tv watching Australia’s best compete on the world stage, it’s time to see the players and pathway behind that success in your own backyard.

Melbourne City’s summer of football features a host of home matches across the school holidays, giving fans the chance to watch current Socceroos and the country’s brightest young talent all in City Blue.

There’s no better place to spend the summer holidays than at AAMI Park.

Between 27 December and 16 January, City will host three exciting home matches, including clashes against both New Zealand clubs, all capped off with family-friendly kick-off times.

The festive football begins with the season’s biggest rivalry as City hosts Melbourne Victory in the iconic Christmas Derby on Saturday 19 December.

Just eight days later, Aurelio Vidmar’s side returns home to face reigning A-League Men Champions Auckland FC on Sunday 27 December at the family-friendly kick-off time of 5:00pm.

The timing couldn’t be more fitting, with Australia and New Zealand’s sporting rivalry continuing after the Boxing Day Test across the road before City and Auckland renew their own battle at AAMI Park.

Following a week on the road, City returns home for another pair of matches, hosting Wellington Phoenix on Sunday 10 January before taking on Brisbane Roar on Saturday 16 January, with both fixtures kicking off at 5:00pm.
