Melbourne City FC is delighted to announce the re-signing of dynamic attacker Aideen Keane for the 2026/27 campaign.
Keane will return for a second season in City blue after an outstanding debut campaign that saw her establish herself as one of the Club’s most influential attacking players.
The 24-year-old featured in all 28 of City’s matches across domestic and continental competition, making an immediate impact when she scored a late equaliser on Club debut away to Sydney FC.
She went on to score eight goals across the season while starting all but two matches, playing a key role as City secured the Premiership-Championship double and qualified for AFC Women’s Champions League football for a third consecutive year.
Now locked in for another season, Keane will again be an important part of Michael Matricciani’s squad as City looks to defend its domestic titles while competing for further success in Asia.
Melbourne City FC Director of Football Michael Petrillo said securing Keane’s signature was an important piece of the Club’s plans for the season ahead.
“Aideen made an immediate impact from the moment she arrived at Melbourne City and quickly established herself as a key member of our squad,” Petrillo said.
“To play every match in your first season at the Club while contributing the way she did speaks volumes about her quality and professionalism.

Keane said she was excited to continue her journey with Melbourne City.
“Last season was one of the most enjoyable years of my career, so I’m really excited to re-sign for another season,” Keane said.
“Being part of such a successful environment helped me grow so much as a player, and winning the Premiership and Championship with this group is something I’ll always be proud of.
