Melbourne City FC can confirm the departures of a further four players from its 2025/26 Premiership and Championship-winning Women’s squad.
Ayana Aoyagi, Caitlin Karic, Chinaza Uchendu and Ellie Wilson all depart the Club following the conclusion of their respective contracts.
This brings to an end a five-year stint in City blue for Karic, who first joined the Club as a 15-year-old in September 2021.

Having progressed into a regular member of the first-team squad during her time at City, Karic made 36 appearances and scored two goals across all competitions, while contributing to multiple trophy-winning campaigns.
Aoyagi, Wilson and Uchendu each joined City ahead of the 2025/26 season and were part of the Club’s Premiership and Championship-winning campaign.
Wilson made eight appearances during her time in City blue, while Aoyagi was a valued member of the playing group throughout her season at the Club.

Nigerian international Uchendu made 21 appearances and scored four goals, including a memorable late winner in City’s AFC Women’s Champions League home Quarter Final against PFC Nasaf.
She also produced a quickfire brace against Canberra United, inspiring City to a come-from-behind victory at home late in the Ninja A-League season.
Additionally, following the expiration of her senior contract, Keira Sarris will remain at Melbourne City as part of the Club’s Academy program.
Everyone at Melbourne City thanks Ayana, Caitlin, Ellie and Chinaza for their contributions during their time at the Club and wishes them all the very best for the future.
