Melbourne City FC will farewell young forward Danella Butrus ahead of the 2026/27 season, with the Club supporting the 19-year-old’s decision to step away from football for personal reasons.
The Club has worked closely with Danella throughout the process, respecting her decision and reaching a mutual agreement to terminate her contract.
The young attacker made 20 appearances across all competitions in her debut professional season, scoring twice in the AFC Women’s Champions League.
She was also part of City’s Premiership and Championship-winning squad, contributing to a memorable season for the Club’s Women’s program.
Everyone at Melbourne City thanks Danella for her contribution to the Club and wishes her and her family all the very best.
Danella will continue to have the full support of everyone at Melbourne City, and the door will always remain open should the time be right for her to return to professional football in the future.
