Melbourne City will be looking to make it back-to-back home wins when we return to AAMI Park this Saturday night to face Western Sydney Wanderers.
After coming from behind to secure our first three points of the A-League Men’s season against Sydney FC last weekend, Aurelio Vidmar’s side will be eager to build on that momentum in our second consecutive home fixture.
And after taking care of the Sky Blues, there’s now an opportunity to complete the double over the Sydney sides in successive weeks!
With preparations almost complete, Vidmar has confirmed his extended squad for Saturday night’s clash, with some exciting news on the selection front.
There’s a welcome boost in midfield for City this week, with Brazilian midfielder Matheus Rossetto named in the extended squad for the first time this season.
After being sidelined with a calf injury throughout the opening three Matchweeks, the experienced midfielder has now been cleared to return and is in contention to make his competitive City debut against the Wanderers.
His inclusion provides another exciting option for Vidmar in the middle of the park, following the impressive recent contributions of fellow international arrival Emiliano Marcondes.
Young defender Peter Antoniou has also been promoted to the extended squad, with no confirmed omissions from last weekend’s matchday group.
With another important three points up for grabs, City will be aiming to make the most of our home advantage before heading into the international break.
