JMAC 150: City Captain makes milestone appearance

Melbourne City FC captain, Jamie Maclaren, made his 150th appearance in all competitions for the Club in Thursday night’s 1-0 win over Adelaide United at AAMI Park.

A record-breaking goal scorer for both the league and the Club, Maclaren’s 150th appearance in red, white, blue adds to an already impressive CV.

Maclaren is now third in City’s all-time appearance holders, behind former captain and current assistant coach, Scott Jamieson (161), and teammate Curtis Good (171*).

Ahead of the clash, Maclaren said: “150 is obviously a big milestone for any player, to do it at one Club is pretty special, to do it in my hometown is even greater.”

“I don’t ask to be a legend [of this Club], but all you can do it give your best. I’ve got over 100 goals for this Club and nothing makes me prouder to know that I’ve done that, and we’ll look to build on that tally for games and goals combined.”

An undisputed legend of the Club, City’s skipper played an important role in ensuring his side returned to winning ways when they faced Adelaide.

Terry Antonis’ early thunderbolt would ensure City claimed the points and it was a game to remember for our Number 9.
