Melbourne Heart FC Head Coach John Aloisi has labelled his side-s New Year-s Day clash against Newcastle Jets as the perfect opportunity to “put things right” and commence 2013 with a bang.
Aloisi believes his side does not warrant its lowly position on the table and today-s match will be a big test of his team-s character to bounce back from three consecutive defeats.
“It-s a big game for us, especially not having won for a couple of games,” Aloisi said.
“We thought we deserved much more from the Victory game – three points – and then the Wellington game; to be two up and let it slip like that, everyone-s disappointed and know that we need to put things right.
“This is the perfect time for it and this is a big game and the players are ready for it.”
Aloisi is set to make a number of changes to today-s squad, with Patrick Gerhardt and Simon Colosimo available after suspension, and Aziz Behich and Richard Garcia in contention for starting berths after taking a week-s rest.
“We-ve got Patrick and Simon coming back in from suspension and we-ve also got Aziz and Richie coming back in so, we-ve got some fresh legs which is good because it is a quick turnaround for both sides.
“I think we will probably be the fresher of the two sides and that-s an advantage we need to take into the game and make sure we do well.”
