Melbourne Heart-s Head Coach John Aloisi said he was thrilled that the club-s newest recruit Harry Kewell has arrived in Melbourne and had commenced training.
Speaking at Kewell-s unveiling at AAMI Park this morning, Aloisi said that he expects Kewell-s professionalism and experience will rub off on the rest of the squad.
“He is one of the players that always sets a good example. I-ve never seen anyone prepare for a training session as well as Harry. That will rub off on a lot of our players and on some of the younger boys as well,” Aloisi said.
“That-s one of the big things about Harry that I like.”
Kewell will also bring an abundance of leadership skills to the Club, something Aloisi is relishing.
“Harry is one of the oldest players, and I class him as a leader.”
Kewell is also looking forward to playing under Aloisi after the two lined up alongside each other numerous times for Australia.
“Obviously I know John through football, and yes we-re good mates, but we-ve got to separate that now he-s my boss and I work for him,” Kewell said of his new coach.
“When I met John a while back, the enthusiasm that he showed to bring me here kind of nailed it straight away. As a player you like to hear the things he was saying and the things he was trying to achieve, and I want to be a part of that.”
