City full-back Callum Talbot has been called up to the Australian U23 national team for a pair of September AFC U23 Asian Cup Qualifiers.
The Olyroos are set to travel to Tajikistan to take on Laos and the host country on September 6 and 12 respectively.
Given the qualifying groups are different sizes, the winner of each group will qualify for the 2024 AFC Asian Cup, along with the four highest-ranked second-placed teams.

Talbot will return to Olyroos duty after last representing his country in June’s Maurice Revello Tournament, where he helped Australia to a third-placed finish.
Facing the likes of Qatar, Mexico, Panama and France, Talbot also wore the armband and captained the Olyroos squad in a number of these fixtures.
He’s set to return to Melbourne following the clash against Tajkistan to continue preparations for City’s fast approaching AFC Champions League campaign.
