City young gun Daniela Galic was on Monday named in the Young Matildas squad for March’s AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers.
This follows a training camp in Melbourne held in the recent international window, where Galic and her teammates also played a pair of friendlies against City and Western United.
The 16-year-old has been in some great form for City in her debut A-League Women season, having scored two goals and assisted a further three.
Placed in Group C, Australia is set to take on Guam and host country Kyrgyz Republic.
These fixtures will mark the first round of qualifying for the 2024 AFC U20 Asian Cup, with the Group winner progressing to Round 2 in June.
Galic’s national team call-up will mean she’s unavailable for selection for City’s next two A-League Women matches.
