City’s A-League Women’s Captain, Emma Checker, has agreed to join Swedish top-tier club, Umea IK, on a short-term loan deal.
The agreement will see Checker return to City in early November, prior to the Club beginning its 2022/23 A-League Women season.
Checker has been working hard on her rehab over the off-season following knee surgery which she underwent after the 2022 Finals Series.
This loan spell will see the City skipper get some valuable game time under her belt prior to the upcoming season, with an eye also towards the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup as she seeks to press her claims to be part of the Matildas squad.
