Melbourne City FC W-League Captain Emma Checker has been named in the Matildas 25-player squad for the upcoming fixture against the Republic of Ireland.

The match will take place on 22 September 2021 at Tallaght Stadium, Dublin and will be live and free on 10 and 10 Play with kick-off set for 4:00am.

It will a chance for Checker to earn her eighth international cap after most recently appearing in a pair of April friendlies against Germany and Netherlands.

Joining her in the squad are her partner in the heart of defence from last season Jenna McCormick, as well as the Club’s 2020/21 W-League Player of the Year, goalkeeper Teagan Micah.

Also named in the 25-player squad are former City Champions Ellie Carpenter, Steph Catley, Kyah Simon, Emily van Egmond, and Lydia Williams.
