Melbourne City FC will host a special Australian Citizenship and Affirmation Ceremony during the Club’s bumper day at AAMI Park this Saturday 25 January.
Through Melbourne City FC’s community program – City in the Community (CITC) – the Club has forged links with the richly diverse Victorian community, promoting a sense of hope and ambition through our vast range of community programs and initiatives.
City fans will gather at AAMI Park to witness the ‘OzFootball Aid’ charity match, before the Club’s Hyundai A-League side host Perth Glory in a crucial six-point clash.
In addition to the action on the pitch, the Club will be welcoming Australia’s newest citizens in partnership with the Department of Home Affairs.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Club will host the Citizenship and Affirmation Ceremony. This year’s ceremony will see 60 new Australian from 32 different countries conferred.
Australian defender and City star, Emma Checker will read the Affirmation on the pitch. We invite all fans to join the ceremony by repeating the Affirmation and singing the National Anthem which will be sung by Trinity Grammar School student, Nick Fallaw.
We invite all our fans to support and welcome the new Conferees to make the ceremony a very special event for the newest members of the Melbourne City FC family.
