Melbourne City FC have qualified for the Foxtel National Youth League Grand Final after their win over Perth Glory on Sunday, finishing on top of Conference A with one match to play.

A 54th minute goal to Gerrie Sylaidos secured the result for Joe Palatsides’ young side who overtook Brisbane Roar at the summit of the table and have already completed their matches for the regular season.

With Adelaide United in third, the Reds are unable to catch City with one match remaining meaning Palatsides’ side will top Conference A and will face one of the New South Wales sides in Conference B in the FNYL Grand Final.

City take on the youth Melbourne Derby next week at CB Smith Reserve in their final match of the regular season as the side prepares for a tilt at claiming its second piece of youth silverware. Kick-off for the youth Melbourne Derby is 7.30pm

Date, time and venue for the Grand Final are yet to be determined with full details on melbournecityfc.com.au at a later date.
