City youngster Daniel Arzani has been named the Professional Footballers Australia Harry Kewell Medalist on Tuesday night after his stellar 2017/18 season.
The PFA’s Under 23 Player of the Year award is voted by the PFA community and the winger beat out Joe Champness, Chris Ikonomidis, Riley McGree and Daniel De Silva to take out the accolade.
After a whirlwind season for the youngster, Arzani said he was honoured to be recognised by his peers for the award.
“I’m extremely grateful and flattered to be named PFA Harry Kewell Medallist for 2018. To be voted by fellow players to win an award named after one of Australia’s most iconic players is very special and I’m honoured to be included on a list with such great past winners.”
Aaron Mooy was also a winner at the PFA’s 25th Anniversary Gala Dinner, taking out the Men’s Footballer of the Year award for his outstanding season in the Premier League with Huddersfield Town.
Congratulations to both Aaron and Daniel on their awards!
