From the Dugout with JvS – Week Six

Heading into tomorrow night-s match with the Newcastle Jets at AAMI Park, I-m anticipating another close match up.

While we have only drawn three matches this season, we-ve certainly been competitive in every match we-ve played and could have feasibly produced a result in every one of them. I-m confident it will be the same tomorrow as we-ve prepared extremely well.

Though people have been quick to reference the bad luck we’ve received this season, I-m firm in the opinion if you work hard and believe in what you are doing, luck can also become a quality of a side.

Of course, there will always be certain moments where things won-t necessarily go as you want, over a season, if you work hard; you will have more luck than bad luck.

We need to turn it around by believing in what we are doing, creating more chances, playing the football we-re doing, working hard and then the luck will turn.

A win is the medicine we need, and it will help everybody if we are able to secure all three points tomorrow night. We can then start climbing up the table, which will instil confidence in the team and enable us to focus on implementing our style of play.
