FFA Cup Scout: Floreat downed by Perth SC

FFA Cup Scout: Floreat downed by Perth SC

Melbourne City’s Westfield FFA Cup opponents Floreat Athena were downed by Perth SC on Sunday as they prepare for its contest on the national stage in three weeks’ time.

Perth made light work of Athena in torrential conditions as an eventful end-to-end second half saw Gustavo Catarcione net twice in the second half while Aleks Jovic added his side’s final goal to round out the result.

Our man to watch and Floreat captain Ludovic Boi found a late consolation for Athena but it wasn’t to be for the hosts, seeing defender Blair Govan sent off in the final minutes of the game.

Perth SC skipper Adrian Madaschi was the man of the match for Perth with the Club’s former player leaving the pitch with a nasty gash to his eyebrow.

City will take on Floreat Athena at Perth SC’s home ground, Dorrien Gardens, on Tuesday 2 August, kick-off 8.30pm AEST (6.30pm WA local).
