Melbourne Heart FC and FFV Sunraysia are set to bring elite level football to Mildura as the Hyundai A-League heads north for a festival of the round ball.
Former Manchester United star Jesper Olsen and Qantas Young Socceroo Jason Hoffman headline the Heart-s participation in the two-day event, which will take place from May 27-28.
The festival will see Melbourne-s newest football club stage a series of school and club clinics around the Sunraysia region, culminating in a ‘Coach the Coach- workshop staged by Olsen.
Having played under and alongside some of the greatest football managers of all time, including Sir Alex Ferguson, French World Cup winning coach Aime Jacquet, and Dutch legend Johan Cruyff, renowned as the architect of Barcelona-s modern philosophy, Olsen brings a wealth of tactical nous.
And the ex-Danish international is set to impart his knowledge to the football community of Sunraysia, educating local teams on the latest coaching innovations as Melbourne Heart FC maintains its commitment to boosting ‘the World Game- at a grassroots level.
Melbourne Heart FC General Manager of Community Sue Crow thanked FFV Sunraysia for its tireless efforts in helping orchestrate the two-day carnival.
“The Club is delighted to be able to head to Mildura and help celebrate the sport of football in conjunction with FFV Sunraysia at next week-s festival,” Crow said.
“Melbourne Heart FC is committed to helping grow football around the state and ensuring our team is truly representative of Victoria-s wider sporting community.
“And thanks to the support of FFV Sunraysia, we look forward to adding value to the great work already undertaken in the region.”
