Melbourne Heart FC will be out to score first when it takes on Perth Glory at nib Stadium tonight.

The Red and White boast an enviable record when scoring first in Hyundai A-League encounters, having only lost once in 18 occasions, with the sole defeat coming in week one this season against the Newcastle Jets.

However, Heart hasn-t been as fortunate in outings with the Glory, recording three draws and a loss in four previous encounters, sitting alongside the Central Coast Mariners as the only side to remain unbeaten when pitted against the Red and White.

Boasting the equal-second best defensive record in the competition, Heart though can remain confident it has what it takes to withstand the Glory barrage a net a critical road win ahead of the Melbourne Derby.

With 10 of the final 17 matches of the season at home, a win in Perth will help lay the platform for a potential assault on the Hyundai A-League-s top two, adding to Heart-s buffer over the teams outside the top six.
