Heart Recognised For Community Engagement

Melbourne Heart FC’s grassroots programs were recently recognised when the Club was named Club of the Year for Community Engagement at the annual Footy Fans Down Under Awards last week.

Melbourne Heart FC-s grassroots programs were recently recognised when the Club was named Club of the Year for Community Engagement at the annual Footy Fans Down Under Awards last week.

Heart beat out cross town rival Melbourne Victory and Brisbane Roar for the prize, which was voted on by over 35,000 members of the Australian football community.

The prize continues Heart-s success in the annual fan awards after claiming victory in the best match day experience category last year.

General Manager, Community, Sue Crow said the Club was delighted to have its efforts recognised by the Australian football community.

“We are delighted to have been named club of the year for community engagement by football fans around the country,” Crow said.

“Engaging grassroots and supporting local clubs is an important responsibility for any Hyundai A-League club and a role we embrace wholeheartedly.

“The Club looks forward to further embracing the local community in the coming months as we unveil our destinations for the Westpac Community Football Festival, as well as our friendly match schedule.”
