Two goals inside 30 minutes have given Melbourne Heart FC a 2-1 win over Newcastle Jets at AAMI Park this evening.

Golgol Mebrahtu continued his hot streak of form, slipping a perfect through-ball from Josip Tadic under the legs of Jets goalkeeper Mark Birighitti in the seventh minute.

But Jets struck back in the 17th minute, as Ryan Griffiths slotted a penalty past Heart’s debutant keeper Andrew Redmayne.

Heart pinched the lead in the 26th minute, converting a penalty of its own through Tadic and held on for its first three points of 2013.
