International City: Arzani impresses as Socceroos held by Denmark

It was another positive night for Australian football on Thursday as Daniel Arzani and the Socceroos walked away from their 1-1 draw with Denmark with their heads held high and the chance to qualify for the Round of 16 still on the table.

The young flyer was a second half substitute as the City winger played on the left in an impressive 25-minute cameo.

It was on the right however where Arzani found his best moment of the match, chasing down what seemed to be a lost ball and flicking the loose ball past Pione Sisto as his cutback flashed across the Danish penalty area.

Former City stars Aaron Mooy and Aziz Behich played the full 90 with the left side in the second half having a distinct City flavour.

Up next for the Socceroos is the final group match of Group C against Peru as the Aussies look to qualify for the next stage.

The equation is simple for the Socceroos, they must win to have any chance of progressing to their second knock-out stage qualification in their history.
