Melbourne City goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic has been called in to the Socceroos squad for Tuesday’s 2018 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifier against Thailand.

Galekovic will replace Adam Federici who has withdrawn from the squad due to injury and join the Socceroos in camp on Monday morning in Melbourne. 

Galekovic signed a two-year deal with Melbourne City in June, with the 36-year-old returning to his home town of Melbourne after making 238 appearances during a successful 10-year stint in Adelaide.

Galekovic represented the Socceroos at the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups.
