Kalmar joins Wanderers

Melbourne City FC and Nick Kalmar have mutually agreed to terminate his contract to allow the midfielder to join Hyundai A-League side Western Sydney Wanderers effective immediately.

Kalmar, 27, joins the Wanderers after five seasons with the Club where he made 69 appearances in the A-League – including the Club’s first-ever match – scoring six goals.

Kalmar also featured in the Club’s inaugural Westfield FFA Cup match, scoring against Sydney FC in his final appearance for the Club.

With Kalmar departing the Club, Head Coach John van’t Schip wished the midfielder well in his next challenge with the Wanderers.

“Nick has been a fine servant of this Club and a superb clubman since he joined as an inaugural player,” van’t Schip said.

“We wish Nick all the best in the next chapter in his career.”
