The 24-year-old right back will spend two weeks on trial with Cagliari Calcio as he seeks to win a contract with the top flight Italian side ahead of the forthcoming Serie A campaign.
General Manager, Football Operations John Didulica is pleased Marrone-s performances for the Red and White have been recognised by clubs overseas.
“It-s a great opportunity for Michael to test himself against elite footballers,” he said.
“Michael was an outstanding contributors last season and has earned this opportunity to trial with CagliariHe is a talented player as well as a hard worker and very level-headed. I-m sure he will represent our Club well during his two weeks in Italy.
“One of our club-s goals is to provide a pathway for Australian talent to make the leap into quality employment in Europe, and this merely reinforces that.”
