The Chinese New Year celebrations continue at AAMI Park on Saturday night when Melbourne City FC take on Brisbane Roar. Find out everything you need to know about match day right here.

With entertaining pre-match events, prize giveaways and half-time competitions, make a day of it with the family and warm up to kick-off against the Roar with a range of exciting activities.

Plan your trip to AAMI Park and see what’s happening this match day at City Square and around the AAMI Park concourse.

City staff will be available for sales and enquiries outside of Edwin’s Café from 5:30pm, where you can purchase our Three Match Membership.

Merchandise will be available outside AAMI Park at our match day store on the Olympic Boulevard concourse next to Edwin’s cafe, and inside the stadium next to aisles 3 and 23.

City Square

Countdown to kick-off with family and friends and continue the Chinese New Year celebrations at the Club’s pre-match fan hub, City Square, from 5:30-7:30pm.

The Year of the Rooster festivities will continue with a range of pre-match and half-time activities for fans to enjoy, such as Lion Dancers, a Laughing Buddah, as well as a Wushu, Tai Chi and Qigong demonstration.

Dress up as your favourite chef and get your video taken at the DON Smallgoods Video booth, and, if your name begins with Don, you can redeem one free General Admission ticket to the match!

The Triple M Rock Patrol will be spinning tunes and handing out special giveaways, while kids can hang out with their favourite City mascots and replicate their A-League and W-League heroes at our community run football clinics.

There will be plenty of food, Melbourne City inflatables and giveaways, so head down to City square and enjoy a relaxing and family-friendly atmosphere in the lead up to an exciting match of football.

Getting to AAMI Park

Public Transport Victoria (PTV) will be running additional train, tram and regional train services before and after Saturday’s night’s match.

  • The nearest train station is Richmond Station, which is just a short stroll along Swan Street and Olympic Boulevard to AAMI Park.  
     
  • Tram Route 70 (Wattle Park – Waterfront City Docklands) can drop you off across the road from AAMI Park (Stop 7D). Extra trams will be operating as Route 70a between Flinders Street Station and Stop 7D – AAMI Park.
  • Bus Route 605 stops out the front of AAMI Park on Swan Street. Route 246 stops at the corner of Punt Road and Swan Street.

Post-Match Members Function

City members, this one’s for you! We will be holding our Post-match Members Function after our clash with Brisbane Roar at AAMI Park.

The function will give our 2016/17 members the chance to rub shoulders with all of the 2016/17 A-League squad, as well as sign autographs and take pictures with their Melbourne City heroes.

The event will start at 10pm and conclude at 11pm with bar and food outlets open, and will be held in the northern concourse of AAMI Park. Click here for full details.
