Thursday Night Football returns to AAMI Park when Melbourne City FC takes on the Central Coast Mariners in Round 16 of the Hyundai A-League. Find out everything you need to know about match day right here.

City Square

Countdown to kick-off with family and friends at the Club’s pre-match fan hub, City Square, from 5:30-7:30pm.

The Triple M Rock Patrol will be spinning tunes and handing out special giveaways, while kids can replicate their A-League and W-League heroes at our community run football clinics. 

There will be plenty of food, Melbourne City inflatables and giveaways, so head down to City Square and enjoy a relaxing and family-friendly atmosphere in the lead up to an exciting match of football.

Getting to AAMI Park

It’s a big week for sport in Melbourne! Public Transport Victoria (PTV) will be running additional train, tram and regional train services before and after Thursday night’s match.

  • The nearest train station is Richmond Station, which is just a short stroll along Swan Street and Olympic Boulevard to AAMI Park.   
     
  • Tram Route 70 (Wattle Park – Waterfront City Docklands) can drop you off across the road from AAMI Park (Stop 7D). Extra trams will be operating as Route 70a between Flinders Street Station and Stop 7D – AAMI Park.
     
  • Bus Route 605 stops out the front of AAMI Park on Swan Street. Route 246 stops at the corner of Punt Road and Swan Street.

Public car parking in Eastern Plaza (entrance D) of AAMI Park is closed due to the Australian Open tennis championship.

Parking will be available at the MCG inside Yarra Park at a cost of $10 per vehicle, and will be open at:

  • Gate 3 from 3:00pm
     
  • Gate 5 from 8:00am
     
  • Gate 6 from 9:00am
     
  • Gate 7 from 5:30am

Fans driving to AAMI Park should be aware that demand for parking inside Yarra Park is expected to be strong. To avoid disappointment, we recommend the use of public transport. 
 

MCG Footbridge Closure

Please note the footbridge connecting the MCG and Rod Laver Arena will be closed from January 6-30 as part of the Australian Open tennis. Details and alternative routes.
 

Citizenship and Affirmation Ceremony

Melbourne City will be welcoming Australia’s newest citizens during a special Citizenship and Affirmation ceremony, to be held in partnership with the Department of Immigration and

The ceremony will involve 51 new Australians, who will become citizens at the game and complete their Pledge of Allegiance on pitch in a ceremony prior to the start of the match against Central Coast.

We invite all our fans to support and welcome the new Conferees by joining in the singing of the National Anthem and repeating the Affirmation, to make the ceremony a very special event for the newest members of the City Family.

Merchandise

City merchandise will be available on match day, where you can purchase our Westfield FFA Cup winners range, Nike 2016/17 Home and Away shirts, official polo, training gear and off-field wear.

Merchandise will be available outside AAMI Park at our match day store on the Olympic Boulevard concourse next to Edwin’s cafe, and inside the stadium next to aisles 3 and 23.

Kids go free! Bring the family along to AAMI Park, where every adult ticket and adult membership can redeem two free junior tickets for Thursday’s match.
