Football Federation Australia has confirmed Melbourne City’s Round 26 clash with Newcastle Jets will be played on Monday 23 March at McDonald Jones Stadium, kick-off 7.30pm.

City’s Round 24 fixture with Central Coast Mariners on Friday 20 March will be brought forward by two hours to make kick-off at 5.30pm while the status of the remaining fixtures are to be determined.

FFA Head of Leagues, Greg O’Rourke, has been working with his team and all stakeholders to reschedule the remainder of the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 Season in a condensed period.

“As we mentioned on Monday, we have made the decision to continue playing the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 Season, behind closed doors, whilst closely monitoring and adhering to the current Government directives and expert advice available to us at this time,” said O’Rourke.

“Working in collaboration with our clubs, Fox Sports & ABC TV, PFA, venues and other stakeholders, we are looking to play the remaining 31 matches of the regular season in a condensed period by bringing forward matches from later rounds.

“We will continue to release the remaining fixtures on a rolling basis as we acknowledge the evolving COVID-19 protocols.

“We understand that these are difficult times for everyone and we will always put the health, welfare and safety of our players, coaches, match officials, volunteers, administrators and fans at the centre of our decision making process. Whilst fans will not be able to attend in person we urge you to continue to support your club and the Hyundai A-League by watching the matches on FOX SPORTS, ABC TV, Kayo or the My Football Live App and to get involved on social media channels” concluded O’Rourke.
