Michael O’Halloran said:

“I’m coming with high hopes to play my part in a team that I feel are really going places. I’m really looking forward to getting in, working hard and training.”

“I’m here to improve the team, and to play my part to try and win the league, which is our first and foremost aim, and also to win the Asian Champions League.”

“Aaron Mooy is one of my closest friends in football, he told me it was brilliant – a great club, great place, great people and a great opportunity for me.”

The versatile forward began his first-team career with Bolton Wanderers after progressing through the ranks at youth level. His performances for the Whites’ reserve side were rewarded with a three-and-a-half-year contract and O’Halloran was loaned out to Sheffield United, Carlisle United and Tranmere Rovers in a bid to gain first-team minutes.

In 2014, the Glasgow-born attacker returned to Scotland, joining Scottish Premier League side St Johnstone, where he went on to clock up 89 appearances, scoring 16 goals.

He helped the Saints to clinch the 2013/14 Scottish Cup in their first-ever Final appearance in the competition, which also gained a place in the 2014/15 Europa League qualifying rounds.

In November 2015, his impressive displays earned a Scottish Premiership Player of the Month award, attracting interest from hometown club Rangers and in February 2016, he signed for the British giants on a four-and-a-half-year deal.

In 28 appearances, he scored three goals and created six assists, as the Gers secured the 2015/16 Scottish Championship and Challenge Cup.

In the summer of 2017, he returned to St Johnstone on loan. He received another Player of the Month award in August 2017 and scored five times in 18 appearances in all competitions.
