Melbourne City FC can announce it has signed midfielder Hollie Palmer for the 2020/21 Westfield W-League season.
Palmer made 27 appearances for Brisbane Roar across the last three seasons after debuting for the club in 2017.
She was named the Westfield W-League Young Footballer of the Year nominee for February 2020 after featuring in three matches in that month, starting twice and coming off the bench to score against City.
Palmer also has experience in the national team set-up, representing the Young Matildas at the 2019 AFC Under 19’s Women’s Championship.
Melbourne City FC Football Director Michael Petrillo said:
“We are very excited to welcome Hollie to the Club, she is a young midfielder who already has three years of W-League experience under her belt.
“Hollie has a very good ability to run with the ball and commit opponents and she possesses a good understanding and application of the counterattack situations.”
Hollie Palmer said:
“I have heard how professional the environment is at City and I can’t wait to continue to develop my game in this environment and learn from all the coaching staff as well as meet and play alongside all my new teammates.
“It will be a big change because the Roar have been great to me over the last 7 years, however, I am very excited about the new challenge that lies ahead.
“An opportunity at a great club like Melbourne City gets me out of my comfort zone and will definitely help me get to the next level and also assist me to further develop both on and off the field.”
Dub Week continues tomorrow as we announce our Westfield W-League squad in preparation for season 2020/21!
