Melbourne City FC can today announce the signing of Norwegian midfielder Noor Eckhoff for the remainder of the 2020/21 Westfield W-League season.
Eckhoff has represented her country at under 17, 19 and 23 levels and will now be moving overseas for the first time in her career.
The 21-year-old joins City after spending the last three seasons playing in the Toppserien, Norway’s top-tier.
Eckhoff played for Lyn and most recently Kolbotn, making over 60 Toppserien appearances and also scoring twice.
She is a hard-working midfielder who can cover a lot of ground and excels at intercepting the ball and starting counter attacks.
Melbourne City FC Director of Football Michael Petrillo said:
“As our last signing for this campaign Noor will add experience and aggressiveness to our midfield.
“She is a Norwegian youth international, experienced in a top European competition, technically adept and is a proven winner.
“We look forward to welcoming her into the group as soon as her quarantine period is over.”
Noor Eckhoff said:
“The opportunity to go abroad and play at the highest level in a league that is highly rated was very appealing to me.
“It is a great challenge, and I’m very happy to be a part of Melbourne City which has been one of the leading teams in recent years.
I hope to add more power in the midfield and make sure our team stays compact in defence and in balance when attacking.”
