Melbourne City Premier Schools Tournament

Melbourne City Premier Schools Tournament

Melbourne City held its Premier Schools tournament this week, with CRC Sydenham and St Monica’s College winning their respective competitions.

The Club held it’s third Premier Girls tournament during a thrilling afternoon which produced a number of exciting contests. CRC Sydenham and Loyola College played off in a close final, which saw the former take home the trophy with a 1-0 win.

In the boys competition, it was St Monica’s who denied Sydenham its second trophy in two days with an exhiliarating penalty shoot-out win, after the scores were locked at 1-1 in normal time.

Young A-League star Ruon Tongyik and W-League player Tyla-Jay Vlanjic were present on both days to present the championship medals to the winning teams.

On behalf of Melbourne City and the Club’s dedicated City in the Community department, we would like to thank all players, coaches and volunteers for making the tournament a rousing success.
