Melbourne City’s U14 Academy side has taken out the 2019 Abu Dhabi Cup, going undefeated in the process.
City faced Dubai City, Le Club France and Al Etuhad Mussfah in the group stages, topping the group with a perfect record while the knockout stages saw them eliminate Muscat Football Academy, FC Cluj Academy and IJF Dubai to qualify for the final against Cape Town Legends Soccer School.
City prevailed 2-0 in the Grand Final with goals to Max Caputo and Jake Najdovski securing the trophy.
The side has now qualified for the Nexen City Cup in San Diego at the end of May where they will face Manchester City, New York City and a range of other MLS and Mexican academies.
