
Melbourne City FC will begin the new 2017/18 A-League season in October with a home opener against Brisbane Roar.
- Warren Joyce’s side will kick-off the new season against Brisbane Roar at AAMI Park on Friday 6 October, kick-off at 7:50pm.
- City will play 14 home matches at AAMI Park, which include two massive home Melbourne Derbies.
- City will also play reigning champions Sydney FC, Western Sydney Wanderers, Wellington Phoenix and Central Coast Mariners twice at AAMI Park.
The Roar will visit AAMI Park for a Friday night blockbuster in Round 1 on October 8, in what will be new Head Coach Warren Joyce’s first competitive league fixture.
City will host 14 home matches throughout the season – all of which will be at AAMI Park in Melbourne.
Those fixtures include two massive Melbourne Derbies, two against reigning champions Sydney FC, two against the Western Sydney Wanderers, two against the Central Coast Mariners, and two against Trans-Tasman rivals Wellington Phoenix.
The first Melbourne Derby will be at Etihad Stadium in Round 2 on Saturday 14 October, with City to welcome its local rivals to AAMI Park for the traditional Christmas Derby on December 23 and on March 24.

City will entertain reigning champions Sydney FC at AAMI Park for two blockbuster Friday and Saturday night clashes on November 3 and February 10 respectively.
Other notable fixtures include a New Year’s Day clash away to Western Sydney Wanderers in Round 13, an Australia Day eve meeting against Newcastle Jets at AAMI Park and the final game of the season on Good Friday against Wellington Phoenix.
