Melbourne Heart FC has finalised its September schedule ahead of the Hyundai A-League 2013-14 season, lining up three matches in Victoria to compliment a five-day camp in Western Australia.

The Red and White will face Victorian Premier League outfit Oakleigh Cannons next Wednesday 4 September at Kingston Heath Soccer Complex before the team heads to Perth for two matches against Perth Glory.

The Melbourne club will also play Hyundai A-League opponent Adelaide United on Friday 27 September at Epping Soccer Stadium, Epping, from 3pm.

The match will be held during the September school holidays and will form part of a junior Gala Day at Epping Soccer Stadium, which will commence at 9am and finish at 2.30pm, half an hour before kick-off.

The Club-s final pre-season hit-out will be against a Peninsula XI side on Sunday 29 September at Frankston Park, Frankston, following a junior curtain-raiser for the Melbourne Heart FC Cup

Melbourne Heart FC General Manager, Football Operations, John Didulica said that the September schedule would provide the Club with the necessary preparation for the approaching season.

“Our matches in September are obviously critical for us in the lead up to the season,” Didulica said.
“Playing regular football against quality opponents allows us to build match fitness and to integrate the new players into the team-s style.

“Matches against the likes of Perth Glory and Adelaide United will give us a great opportunity to test where we are at, while we will also take football to the suburbs against local players.”

The Red and White kick off the Hyundai A-League 2013-14 campaign against Melbourne Victory on October 12 at Etihad Stadium.
