Brazillian winger, Leo Natel, joins City on loan

Melbourne City FC is pleased to announce the signing of Brazilian winger, Leo Natel, on loan for season 2023/24.

Natel joins the Club on a one-year loan from Corinthians in Brazil’s Serie A, following a long-term injury to City forward, Andrew Nabbout.

The 26-year-old has made 55 appearances and scored four goals since joining Corinthians in 2020.

Natel has also spent recent seasons on loan to APOEL Nicosia in the Cypriot first division, where he made 56 appearances, scored 14 goals and added a further six assists.

A crafty winger who isn’t afraid to shoot from long-range, Natel joins City on the eve of its AFC Champions League campaign kicking off and will be eligible for the Matchday 1 clash against Ventforet Kofu.

Melbourne City FC Director of Football, Michael Petrillo, said:

“Leo will provide us with an ideal replacement for Andy. He brings direct pace, strength, has the technical qualities to go 1v1 and can press very well.

“He can play on either the right or the left, which will provide a great wide option alongside Marin Jakolis and Mathew Leckie upon his return.

“Leo also has had previous experience playing as a striker, further adding to our depth in the front third.”
