Melbourne’s own Nick Kalmar, a foundation player for Melbourne City FC since the club’s inception, was signed from the Victorian Premier League as part of the club’s initial tranche of young recruits. Viewed as a rising star, Kalmar’s ability to ghost dangerously into the penalty area makes him a genuine scoring threat from deep.
A typical box-to-box midfielder, Kalmar’s strength and passing range are among his strengths, in addition to his significant aerial prowess. His size and bulk belie his deft touch. Nick is a champion of the MHFC community program in schools and clubs, and he especially enjoys returning to his home turf in the western suburbs. He is a keen Tigers fan.
