Just a week after securing promotion to the NPL2 for next season, City’s senior NPL squad are deep in preparation for one of the biggest matches of the current season.
Originally scheduled to take place on Saturday afternoon, City will now be facing Preston Lions at Frank Holohan Soccer Complex this Friday night, with kick-off set for 8:00pm.
In what will be a top of the table clash, Friday night’s fixture is set to be a defining moment in the season as both teams seek to be crowned 2022 NPL3 Champions.
City currently sits two points clear of Preston, meaning a win on Friday would go a long way to securing the Championship with just two fixtures to go and a current +10 goal difference.
On the other hand, a Lions win would see it overtake City and take the box seat in the Championship race.
With an average age of just 18, John Maisano’s squad couldn’t have been more impressive throughout the whole season, suffering defeat on just two occasions.
We urge all City fans to get down to Dandenong on Friday night to cheer on the boys! Entry will be free for City Members and all kids 14 and under, while non-members can click here to purchase a ticket for $10.
Members will receive an email on Thursday with instructions on how to redeem their complimentary ticket.
