NPL Preview: North Geelong v City

NPL Preview: North Geelong v City

Our NPL side will look to retain their spot in the promotion positions on Saturday as they face North Geelong Warriors at Elcho Park.

After conceding late last week against league leaders Whittlesea Ranges, City dropped off the pace in the race for NPL2 promotion, seeing St Albans Saints overtake City to move into second position.

Despite the loss, Joe Palatsides’ chargers will look to bounce back against a North Geelong side that has themselves experienced a drop in form since leading the league only a month ago.

The Warriors come off a 1-1 draw with the resurgent Werribee City last Sunday and will look to change the tide of their horrid form in the last two months.

North Geelong’s last three point haul came at the start of June against Nunawading, winning one of their last eight matches. Despite their run of form, the Warriors still sit in fourth position, three points off City and eight points off league leaders Whittlesea.
