Standing at 185cm, Malik made his first A-League appearance for North Queensland Fury before returning home to Adelaide, making 94 appearances for Adelaide United across five seasons, including their Asian Champions League campaign in 2008.

Malik is a versatile defender set to strengthen the City defence, with the ability to play along the back four as well as a holding midfielder.

Malik has signed for the remainder of the 2015/16 campaign and through to the conclusion of the 2017/18 season.
