We’re pleased to announce that Rado Vidosic has been appointed Head Coach of Melbourne City’s A-League Men’s team on a permanent basis.
The appointment comes on the back of City’s biggest and most dominant win of the season, a 6-1 victory over Macarthur FC.
Vidosic took over as interim Head Coach in late November following the departure of former Head Coach, Patrick Kisnorbo, and has committed to leading City’s A-League Men’s team until the end of the 2024/25 season.
Following the club’s best ever start to an A-League Men’s season, City has continued right where it left off since Vidosic took the reins, having extended its lead on top of the table to seven points with a game in hand on the chasing pack.
City’s Director of Football, Michael Petrillo, gave insight into the process in which the club carefully considered all options available before making the decision to appoint Vidosic as Head Coach on a permanent basis.
“We are a club that looks internally before we look externally and when we know we have the right person within our ranks, we have no hesitation in giving them the first opportunity.
“We’ve seen over the years his ability to implement the City way of playing football starting with our Academy, then our A-League Women’s team and over the last couple of months, the A-League Men’s team.
“Along with his belief in the way we play, he has also continued to nurture the culture inherent within the football club and this is one of the most important factors we took into consideration before making this appointment.
“We have an excellent group of coaches and staff, along with a great playing group. We now look forward to continuing to build on an excellent start to the season and a relentless push for continued success.”
City will next be in action away to Perth Glory this Saturday night at Macedonia Park.
