Melbourne City central defender, Samuel Souprayen, netted his first goal in City colours on Saturday night to secure a vital three points at home.
Souprayen popped up with a crucial header at the back post to ensure City returned to winning ways against the then ladder leaders, Wellington Phoenix.
Following the match, Souprayen said: “Honestly, I’m so happy. It’s a pleasure to score my first goal at AAMI Park and to win against Wellington.”
“Thank you to Tolgay [for the assist], because he did everything. I put my head there and scored. My first goal, good win! See you on Tuesday night [for our match against Western Sydney]”.
City will look to make it two wins on the trot at home when they take on Western Sydney this Tuesday 12 March, kick-off 7:00pm.
