The Premiers Plate is wrapped up for a record-breaking third year running and the news only gets better for City fans.
Two games remain before Finals and we’re set to welcome back two key members of the squad for this weekends ‘away’ clash against Western United at AAMI Park.
Mathew Leckie, who hasn’t made an appearance since mid-February due to a hamstring injury, has been named in the squad for this Saturday’s fixture.

Dutch midfielder Richard van der Venne is another who is set to make his long-awaited return from a calf injury.
A bout of illness at an unfortunate time saw him sidelined for a little longer than originally expected, but he’s now been passed fit to return to action.

Sealing the Premiers Plate with two games remaining will give Head Coach Rado Vidosic plenty of flexibility in naming his line-up, provided with an opportunity to rest a number of players should he choose to.
Along with a perfect chance to build up Leckie and van der Venne’s match fitness, it could also mean we see some extended minutes for the likes of Max Caputo and Raphael Borges Rodrigues.
