Team News: City’s Round 13 squad

The team is in for Friday’s clash with Western United. See who’s in and who’s out of this week’s side.

It’s a raft of changes for City who see their young internationals depart the side for Thailand as the Australian U23 side looks to qualify for Tokyo 2020.

Tom Glover, Ramy Najjarine and Connor Metcalfe will depart last week’s side with Denis Genreau completing his shoulder rehab as part of Graham Arnold’s squad in Bangkok.

The departures will test City’s depth with a range of young and experienced players looking to fill the starting positions.

Scott Jamieson returns from the illness that ruled him out of Sunday’s contest with Sydney. Jamieson returned home on match day with the illness and was ticked off early in the week to be in the mix for Friday night.

Youngsters Moudi Najjar, Stefan Colakovski and Raphael Borges Rodrigues have been added to the extended side with a number of players on the bench over the past weeks given the chance to start.

Goalkeeper Joe Gauci will also be added to the City bench as Dean Bouzanis returns to the starting side for the clash.

City face Western United at AAMI Park on Friday night, kick-off 7.30pm. Tickets via Ticketek.
